As your local wedding photographer near Edmonton, I get to see a lot of different venues!
Weatherwood Ranch is a beautiful rustic barn situated on a golf course, which means you have the entire green area as well for photos.
They’ve built the barn next to the fountained pond with a gorgeous ceremony area, nice fire pit and conversation area, secluded from the rest of the golf course.
After some last minute unfortunate plan changes only a couple weeks from their wedding, Cathryn and Logan were fortunate to get a last minute booking with Weatherwood Ranch in September to have their wedding. The day was warm, bright and sunny, and made for making memories.
These two lovebirds started out the day by getting ready separately in their’s and family homes. They weren’t fussed by the groom’s getting ready photos, so I headed directly to Cathryn to get detail photos, as well as getting ready, and she made sure to get a pic with her cat!
When everyone was ready, we headed out to Weatherwood Ranch where Logan was waiting for his bride-to-be to do a first look and private vows.
Considering a first look?
A first look takes place before the ceremony generally with just the bride and groom. Instead of seeing each other during the usual “walking down the aisle” moment, it allows the couple to just be themselves and present in the moment. It's great for us introverted people who aren’t a fan of public expression, or being in the spotlight. No pressure, no fuss, just the two of you getting ready to be married.
After the first look and private vows, we headed back to the barn for the ceremony.

After the ceremony we headed out to their local farm for photos with all the animals, the most important part of the day!
When we finished at the farm, we headed back to the golf course and the barn for pics around the course, before heading in for supper, speeches, cake and first dance.
