Considering a helicopter elopement in the Canadian Rockies but not sure where to start?

Annick and Justin wanted a day that was just for them. When they reached out to me, they already knew that they wanted to do a sunrise helicopter elopement in the Canadian Rockies in the middle of June. This meant it would be a very early wakeup for a 5 am-ish sunrise!
Read their Google review of their experience with me here:
They knew they wanted to keep their wedding very simple: a friend would get his one day licence to marry them, they would take the heli up the mountain for sunrise, and then head to Emerald Lake Lodge to spend a couple of nights. The one item they asked for suggestions one were flowers - something that would hold up to the travel. I suggested a wood flower bouquet from Prairie Chic Designs. The wood flowers can be fully customized with color, and you don’t have to worry about them dying throughout the day. And they look so beautiful and almost real!

Cue the morning of their beautiful adventure elopement near Nordegg!
We met up before the crack of dawn at Rockies Heli, signed the usual paperwork, and I helped Annick get into her dress while Justin and their friend who would marry them served up a premade breakfast outside at the picnic tables. When dressed, Annick and Justin partook in a “First Look”, starting their wedding festivities off in a big way.
Then came the heli ride! It was the three of their’s first time in a helicopter, and the excitement in the air was palpable as we climbed in the experienced pilot lifted us off, flying through the valley for the 6 minute flight to the wedding location: the beautiful Lake of the Falls.
Some people might not know, but you can actually hike up here with the right determination! The helicopter makes the almost 40 kilometre roundtrip hike a very short trip!
Upon landing, there was so much excitement! After a few minutes to just take it all in, we headed down from where the helicopter landed for a view of the lake and near the creek for the perfect ceremony backdrop. And what a beautiful ceremony it was.
Following the ceremony we did the iconic champagne spray, with a toast for the newly married couple. Then we spent time just enjoying the area and seeing the beautiful views, including some onlookers - some mountain goats on the mountain side!
Justin even got a little wet by getting a refreshing drink from the creek.
When the time was done, we flew back down the mountain, and warmed up with some complimentary coffee and tea.
But their day wasn’t done yet!!
Stay tuned for the Emerald Lake portion of their day!
